Overview

The Panduit PZWMCGK is a cabinet jumper grounding kit designed to provide a secure and reliable ground connection for network equipment housed within server racks and cabinets. Proper grounding is critical for personnel safety, preventing electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to sensitive electronics, and ensuring optimal network performance by mitigating electrical noise. This kit is essential for any installation requiring adherence to electrical codes and best practices for grounding IT infrastructure.

Compatibility

This grounding kit is designed for use with standard 19-inch rack systems and Panduit's own cabinet and enclosure lines. It provides a universal grounding solution for most rack-mounted equipment, including servers, switches, routers, and patch panels. The PZWMCGK is intended to connect equipment chassis to the cabinet's grounding bus bar, facilitating a common ground potential across all installed devices.

Installation Notes

Installation requires a T20 Torx driver for the grounding lugs. The kit includes a 6-foot (1.8m) green insulated grounding cable, two 1/4-inch ring terminals for cabinet bus bar connection, and one 1/4-inch ring terminal for equipment chassis connection. Ensure the mounting surfaces on both the equipment and the cabinet bus bar are clean and free of paint or debris to achieve a low-resistance connection. Torque the lug screws to 20 in-lbs (2.3 Nm) to ensure a secure connection without damaging the equipment.
