Overview
The Axis 03100-001 is a replacement dome accessory pack supplied with four smoked optical domes and gaskets. This is a consumable maintenance kit for Axis compact dome cameras operating in high-glare or outdoor environments where dome degradation—scratching, environmental haze, or optical coating breakdown—reduces video clarity over months or years of continuous operation. Deploy this when existing domes show visible wear, when glare artifacts appear in footage despite camera-side WDR tuning, or when dome scratch accumulation is forcing you to clean lenses more frequently than quarterly. The smoked tint itself reduces ambient light reflection and glare bounce, lowering the optical load on the camera's imaging pipeline.
Compatibility
The 03100-001 is engineered for Axis M-series compact dome models: M4225-LVE, M4227-LVE, and M4228-LVE. Confirm your current camera model number before ordering—this pack will not fit other Axis families (e.g., P-series fixed boxes, Q-series PTZ). If you run a mixed-model deployment, you may need multiple kit SKUs across your fleet.
Installation Notes
Each dome ships with a protective gasket pre-fitted. During replacement, ensure the gasket sits flush in its groove—misaligned or pinched gaskets will not seal properly and can allow dust or moisture ingress, defeating the environmental rating of the camera body. Clean the dome seating surface on the camera housing before installation. The hard-coat optical surface resists scratching, but avoid abrasive cloths during cleaning; use a soft, lint-free microfiber wipe with lens cleaner only if needed. No torque spec is required—hand-tighten the dome retaining ring until snug (do not over-torque, as the plastic threading can crack).
