Overview

The APC Back UPS Pro BX1500M is a 1500VA/900W uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed to safeguard sensitive electronic equipment from power disturbances. It provides battery backup during outages and stabilizes voltage with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR). This unit is critical for maintaining continuous operation of surveillance systems, network infrastructure, and workstations during unexpected power events, preventing data loss and equipment damage. The BX1500M is suited for small office/home office (SOHO) environments and critical IT deployments.

Compatibility

This UPS is designed to support a wide range of electronic devices. It is compatible with most standard network switches, routers, workstations, servers, and surveillance NVRs/DVRs that draw up to 900W. Specifically, it can power multiple IP cameras and their associated network infrastructure for a limited duration during an outage, allowing for graceful shutdowns or continued operation until backup power is restored. It is not designed for high-draw devices like large HVAC systems or industrial machinery.

Installation Notes

Connect the BX1500M to a single, grounded mains power outlet. Plug critical equipment into the battery backup and surge-protected outlets. The unit features an intuitive LCD interface that displays power status, load level, and battery charge. Ensure the UPS is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and sources of extreme heat or humidity, to maintain optimal operating temperature and longevity. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the battery every 3-5 years, depending on usage and environmental conditions.
