Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP7516 1U Rack Power Distribution Unit

Overview

The AP7516 is a 1U rack-mount PDU from APC by Schneider Electric designed to distribute 3-phase 208V power — up to 14.4kW — across six IEC 60320 C13 outlets in a single rack unit of panel space. If you're powering a dense row of rack-mounted surveillance NVRs, network switches, or servers where a single 20A single-phase feed won't cover the load, the AP7516's 3-phase input balances draw across all three legs and dramatically raises usable capacity per circuit. The input plug is IEC 60320 C20, so it mates directly with standard 3-phase PDU whips common in colocation and enterprise equipment rooms. At 1U, it contributes minimal overhead to 42U or 45U racks where vertical real estate is at a premium. The 8-foot cord length provides enough slack to reach floor or overhead cable trays without stress on the input connector.

Compatibility

The AP7516 fits any standard 19-inch rack accepting a 1U device — including APC NetShelter SX, SV, and VX series enclosures, as well as third-party 19-inch EIA-310-compliant racks. The IEC 60320 C20 input is compatible with APC 3-phase power whips and most facility PDU tap boxes rated for 208V 3-phase output. Output outlets (C13) accept standard IEC 60320 C14 power cords used on the majority of rack-mount NVRs, managed PoE switches, and 1U/2U servers. Review your upstream breaker panel and UPS capacity before deploying — a 14.4kW load at full draw requires a properly rated 3-phase feed and upstream overcurrent protection sized to the circuit.

Installation Notes

Mount horizontally in a standard 19-inch rack using the integrated ear brackets — no tool kit is specified in evidence, so verify mounting hardware availability before install. Input frequency is rated 50/60 Hz, covering both North American and international facility power. Confirm your facility's 3-phase 208V service is available at the rack location before ordering; this unit does not support single-phase or 120V input.
