Overview

The Add-On ADD-GMC-SFP-POE is a media converter designed to bridge the gap between standard Ethernet copper connections and fiber optic SFP modules, while also providing Power over Ethernet (PoE) to the connected device. This unit is essential for extending network reach and powering devices like IP cameras or wireless access points over longer distances where standard Ethernet cables are insufficient. It supports 10/100/1000BASE-TX (RJ-45) input and converts it to an open SFP port, enabling flexible fiber optic integration. The integrated PoE capability simplifies deployment by eliminating the need for separate power injectors or local power sources for the end device.

Compatibility

This media converter is compatible with any standard SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) module, allowing for a wide range of fiber optic connections (e.g., multimode, single-mode, specific wavelengths). It accepts standard 10/100/1000BASE-TX Ethernet input from any network switch or device with an RJ-45 port.
