The StarTech PYO2LSATA is a 6-inch SATA power splitter cable designed to convert a single SATA power connector from your PC power supply into two. This is essential when you need to add an additional SATA-powered device, such as a hard drive, SSD, or optical drive, but your power supply unit (PSU) lacks sufficient available connectors. Its compact 6-inch length minimizes cable clutter in builds where space is at a premium, such as in smaller form-factor systems or when routing cables behind drive bays.
This splitter is compatible with any standard ATX or server power supply unit that provides a 15-pin SATA power output. It connects to any SATA-powered device, including 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SSDs and HDDs, SATA optical drives, and other peripherals requiring a 15-pin SATA power input. It is not compatible with 4-pin Molex or other power connector types.
Ensure the power supply unit is disconnected from the mains power before installation. Connect the 15-pin SATA power connector from the PSU to the corresponding connector on the PYO2LSATA. Then, connect the two 15-pin SATA power connectors from the splitter to your SATA devices. The PVC jacket material offers flexibility for routing within tight enclosures.
