Compatibility

This adapter is designed for use with standard T568B wired RJ45 jacks. It specifically separates the pairs for two applications: Pairs 1 & 4 are designated for voice wiring (e.g., traditional telephone lines or VoIP phones requiring only two pairs), while Pairs 2 & 3 are configured for a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet connection. It is compatible with any standard 8-position, 8-contact (8P8C) RJ45 jack wired to the T568B standard.

Installation Notes

Installation involves simply plugging the BR851A adapter into an existing T568B terminated RJ45 jack. The adapter then provides two separate female ports: one for voice applications (using pairs 1 & 4) and one for 10/100BASE-T Ethernet (using pairs 2 & 3). Ensure the original jack is indeed wired to T568B; this adapter will not function correctly with T568A or other wiring schemes. No external power is required for operation.
