Hubbell BR851D Network Adapter

Overview

The Hubbell BR851D is a passive adapter designed to split a single T568B wired RJ45 network drop into two separate 10/100BASE-T Ethernet connections. This device is useful in structured cabling deployments where a single network cable run needs to support two separate network devices, such as a VoIP phone and a PC, or two low-bandwidth devices, without running additional cable. It leverages existing cable infrastructure to provide dual connectivity from a single jack.

Compatibility

This adapter is specifically designed for T568B wiring schemes and supports standard 10/100BASE-T Ethernet speeds. It splits pairs 2 & 3 to one RJ45 jack and pairs 1 & 4 to the other RJ45 jack. It is compatible with any standard RJ45 jack wired to the T568B standard. It does not support Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T) speeds due to the way it splits the conductor pairs.

Installation Notes

Installation involves simply plugging the BR851D into an existing T568B wired RJ45 jack and then plugging your network devices into the two output RJ45 ports. Ensure the source jack is wired correctly to T568B. This is a passive device and requires no external power. It is intended for indoor, controlled environments only.
