Description

ACTi PMAX-0505 Pole Mount

Overview

The ACTi PMAX-0505 is a dedicated pole-mounting bracket designed to secure ACTi surveillance cameras on vertical pole infrastructure — utility poles, fence posts, or structural uprights in parking lots, perimeter fences, and wide-area outdoor installations. Unlike wall or ceiling mounts, a pole mount elevates the camera above ground clutter and traffic, improving sightlines to distant subjects (vehicles, pedestrians) while keeping the lens axis parallel to ground-plane movement. This matters when you're covering a parking area or loading dock where subject height and approach vectors are predictable.

Compatibility

The PMAX-0505 works with ACTi B4x series cameras and E44, E45, E46, E44A, and E45A, E46A model lines. Verify your exact model against this list before purchase — ACTi camera mounting interfaces vary within product families. The mount delivers power via standard PoE (802.3af), meaning no separate power cable to the pole is required; network cabling alone suffices. This simplifies installation in remote pole locations where AC power is absent or costly to run.

Installation Notes

Pole mounts demand careful torque management — over-tightening stainless fasteners can strip threads in plastic camera housings, while under-torquing allows vibration-induced loosening in wind. Confirm pole diameter compatibility with ACTi's installation guide before ordering. Galvanized or stainless hardware is mandatory in coastal or corrosive environments (salt spray, industrial emissions); standard steel fasteners will corrode within months. Pole-mounted cameras experience wind load and thermal cycling stress; inspect fasteners seasonally, especially after severe weather.
