The ATEN CS1708A is an 8-port KVM switch designed for rack installations, allowing you to control multiple computers from a single console. This unit supports PS/2 and USB combo connectivity, offering flexibility for mixed environments. Its 1U rack-mountable form factor conserves valuable rack space, making it ideal for server rooms and data centers where efficient use of space is critical. The CS1708A enables simultaneous operation of up to 8 computers, streamlining management tasks and reducing hardware clutter.

Compatibility

This KVM switch is compatible with computers utilizing PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse connections, and HDB-15 monitor inputs. It supports a wide range of operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS. The unit can be daisy-chained with up to 31 additional CS1708A units, expanding control to a total of 256 computers from a single console, provided the connected computers are running supported operating systems and use compatible keyboard/mouse protocols.

The CS1708A features a 1U rack-mountable metal housing, requiring standard rack mounting hardware (not included) for secure installation. Its dimensions are 17 inches wide by 6.3 inches deep, fitting standard 19-inch racks. The unit weighs 5.86 lb. Console connections include 1x USB Type A for keyboard, 1x USB Type A for mouse, and 1x HDB-15 female for monitor. Computer connections utilize proprietary KVM cables (sold separately) that terminate in PS/2 or USB and HDB-15 for each connected computer.
