Description

Allied Telesis AT-GS910/8E-10 8-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch

Overview

The Allied Telesis AT-GS910/8E-10 is an 8-port 10/100/1000TX unmanaged Gigabit switch designed for straightforward IP network expansion without configuration overhead. The "-10" suffix denotes the US external power adapter variant, making it a plug-and-play addition to small-to-mid-size security and surveillance deployments where a managed feature set is unnecessary and budget discipline matters. If you're extending a network segment for a handful of IP cameras or access control readers, this switch handles the job without requiring a console connection or CLI knowledge. Browse the full Allied Telesis networking line for managed and PoE alternatives in the same family.

Compatibility

The AT-GS910/8E-10 operates as a standard IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3ab-compliant unmanaged network switch, making it compatible with any 10/100/1000BASE-T endpoint — IP cameras, NVRs, VoIP phones, access control panels, or general IT equipment. It auto-negotiates speed and duplex on every port, so mixed 10/100/1000 device environments connect without manual adjustment. Note that this is a non-PoE switch; any cameras or access control devices requiring Power over Ethernet must be powered separately or paired with a PoE-capable switch or midspan injector. The external power supply is a US-spec adapter (verify outlet compatibility before deploying in non-US regions).

Installation Notes

As an unmanaged switch, installation is limited to physical mounting, cable termination on RJ-45 ports, and connecting the included external power adapter — no software setup required. The external power supply approach keeps the switch body compact but adds a second connection point; secure the adapter appropriately in rack or wall-mount installs to avoid accidental disconnection. For help sizing your switch deployment, factor in that all 8 ports are non-PoE: budget separate power for every connected device that requires it.
