Description

Allied Telesis AT-GS910/5E-10 5-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch with External PSU

Overview

The Allied Telesis AT-GS910/5E-10 is a 5-port 10/100/1000T unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch supplied with an external AC adapter power supply. It is designed for small workgroups, remote closets, and edge network installations where you need wire-speed Gigabit connectivity without the overhead of managed switch configuration. All five ports auto-negotiate speed and duplex, eliminating manual port setup — useful in mixed-speed environments where legacy 10/100 devices share a segment with Gigabit endpoints. The external AC adapter (rather than an internal power supply) keeps the switch body compact and simplifies replacement if the power unit ever fails. This model is well-suited to installations alongside network switches and IP cameras where a dedicated edge drop is needed but a full managed switch would be over-specified.

Compatibility

As an unmanaged Layer 2 switch, the AT-GS910/5E-10 is compatible with any IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3ab-compliant network device — including IP cameras, NVRs, access control panels, intercoms, and general IT endpoints from any manufacturer. It operates transparently on any Ethernet network without requiring configuration, VLAN setup, or driver installation. It does not supply PoE, so downstream devices requiring Power over Ethernet will need a separate PoE injector or PoE-capable uplink switch. Verify your installation's power budget and port-count requirements against the rest of the Allied Telesis switching line if you need PoE delivery, VLAN segmentation, or more than five ports — those use cases call for a managed alternative within the same product family.

Installation Notes

The switch is powered via the included external AC adapter — confirm local AC voltage compatibility before deploying in non-standard electrical environments. No console access, no IP address, and no configuration software are required; connect power and patch cables and the switch is operational. Place the unit on a flat surface or mount per your site's enclosure requirements. Ensure adequate ventilation around the chassis to prevent thermal buildup in enclosed spaces.
