Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP7BU is a 7-foot Cat 6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) patch cord designed for high-density network installations where cable management is critical. Its compact 28 AWG diameter simplifies routing in tight spaces, making it suitable for data centers, telecommunications rooms, and structured cabling deployments requiring robust connectivity. The cord features a tangle-free latch for easy disconnection, streamlining moves, adds, and changes in active network environments.

Compatibility

This patch cord supports 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) and 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet) applications. It is also backward compatible with slower ATM speeds (155 Mb/s, 622 Mb/s, 1.2 Gb/s) and supports digital video, broadband/baseband analog video, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems. It meets ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 and ISO 11801 Class E standards. It is rated to support IEEE 802.3af/802.3at PoE applications with up to 48 cables in a bundle, and 802.3bt types 3 and 4 (PoE++) with up to 24 cables in a bundle.

Constructed with 28 AWG stranded copper conductors, this cable offers flexibility. The CM/LSZH (Communications Multipurpose/Low Smoke Zero Halogen) flammability rating makes it suitable for use in plenum spaces where required by code. The patented tangle-free latch design prevents snagging during installation and removal, ensuring a secure connection without accidental disengagement. Each cord is 100% performance tested for wire map, Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT), and return loss.
