Overview
The Panduit UTP28SP1 is a 1-foot Category 6 patch cord designed for high-density network environments where cable management is critical. Its 28 AWG stranded copper construction and compact 3.8mm diameter simplify routing in tight spaces, making it ideal for structured cabling deployments within server racks, patch panel terminations, and connecting network devices where standard 23 or 24 AWG cables would be too bulky.
Compatibility
This cable supports 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) and 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet) networks. It is backward compatible with 155 Mb/s and 622 Mb/s ATM, as well as 1.2 Gb/s ATM applications. The UTP28SP1 is also suitable for digital video, broadband/baseband analog video, voice/data systems, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) deployments. Crucially, it supports IEEE 802.3af/at PoE applications with up to 48 cables in a bundle and 802.3bt types 3 and 4 PoE applications with up to 24 cables in a bundle, ensuring sufficient power delivery for connected devices without overheating.
Installation Notes
Constructed with a patented tangle-free latch, this patch cord prevents snags during installation and removal, streamlining moves, adds, and changes. The cable is CM/LSZH rated, suitable for use in conduits and plenums where fire safety is a concern. Each cable is 100% performance tested for wire map, NEXT, and return loss, exceeding ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 standards.
