Description

Viking Electronics 263548 6-Wire Amplified Handset with Armored Steel Lanyard Cable

Overview

The Viking Electronics 263548 is a 6-wire amplified black handset assembly built for high-abuse, vandal-prone installations where a standard handset cord will not survive. The 25 ft (7.62 m) split cord reaches across extended wiring runs typical in lobby phones, jail phones, correctional facility intercoms, and outdoor entry stations. A 12-inch steel lanyard reinforces the cable at its most vulnerable point — the handset end — while armored construction along the full run resists cutting and repeated mechanical stress. The 5-inch (127 mm) splitter is sized to reach the handset jack on nearly any digital phone without requiring panel modification. Cable clamps Q171690 and T207500 are included to secure the assembly at the mounting surface. Note: this assembly is not adjustable — confirm your wiring run and mounting geometry before ordering.

Compatibility

Designed for Viking Electronics entry phones, panel phones, and door intercoms that accept a 6-wire amplified handset connection — including Viking's IP panel phones with steel-reinforced handset cable provisions and the E-Series indoor/outdoor entry phones (E-10A, E-20B). The 5-inch splitter clears the handset jack on nearly all digital phone chassis without modification. Verify your specific Viking model accepts a 6-wire amplified handset interface before ordering; Viking analog door entry and two-way communication stations are the primary target application.

Installation Notes

Route the 25 ft armored cable to avoid sharp bends that could compromise the steel lanyard at the strain-relief transition. Secure the cable at the panel surface using the included Q171690 and T207500 cable clamps — both clamps are required for a code-compliant, pull-resistant termination. The assembly is fixed-length and non-adjustable; excess cable must be managed at install rather than trimmed or spliced.
