Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP5 is a 5-foot Cat6 Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) patch cord designed for high-density network environments. Its 28 AWG stranded copper construction and compact 0.150-inch diameter simplify cable management in racks and patch panels. The integral pair manager and patented tangle-free latch ensure reliable connections and streamline moves, adds, and changes, making it suitable for data centers and enterprise network closets.

Compatibility

This patch cord supports 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) and 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet) applications. It is also compatible with 155 Mb/s and 622 Mb/s ATM, 1.2 Gb/s ATM, digital video, broadband/baseband analog video, voice/data systems, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The cable construction exceeds ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 and ISO 11801 Class E standards. It supports IEEE 802.3af/802.3at PoE applications (up to 48 cables in a bundle) and 802.3bt types 3 and 4 PoE applications (up to 24 cables in a bundle). This cable is cULus Listed per UL 1863 and CAN/CSA-C22.2.

Installation Notes

Constructed with CM/LSZH (Communications Multipurpose/Low Smoke Zero Halogen) rated cable, this patch cord is suitable for installations requiring reduced flame spread and smoke emission. The high-performance modular plugs feature a centered de-embedded design. The pre-installed barcodes on the cable facilitate port mapping when used with RapidID software, simplifying network documentation and troubleshooting.
