Altronix NETWAY4EW5N 4-Port PoE Extender
Overview
The Altronix NETWAY4EW5N is a compact, 4-port PoE extender designed to overcome the standard 100-meter Ethernet cable length limitation. This unit allows you to deploy IP cameras, access control readers, or other PoE-powered devices significantly further from the network switch or power source, up to a total of 500 meters (1640 ft). It's ideal for large facilities, campus environments, or any deployment where running new cable runs is cost-prohibitive or physically impossible.
Compatibility
This device is compatible with any standard IEEE 802.3af/at/bt compliant PoE switch or injector. It functions as a repeater, passing both data and power. It is suitable for extending the range of most IP cameras, wireless access points, and other network devices that adhere to PoE standards. Specific compatibility extends to devices requiring up to 56VDC input, commonly found in commercial surveillance and network infrastructure.
Installation Notes
The NETWAY4EW5N requires a 56VDC power input from a PoE compliant source. It daisy-chains, meaning the output of one unit can feed into the input of another to further extend range. Ensure the total power draw of devices connected to the NETWAY4EW5N does not exceed the capabilities of the upstream PoE source. The unit is designed for indoor use and should be protected from moisture and extreme temperatures.
