Description

Altronix NETWAYSP4T2W53 8-Port PoE++ Managed Switch with Battery Backup, 360W, NEMA 4/4X Enclosure

Overview

The Altronix NETWAYSP4T2W53 is a hardened, field-deployable PoE switch built specifically for physical security infrastructure — surveillance cameras, access control readers, and intercoms that live outside the comfort of a climate-controlled IT closet. Eight 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE ports delivering up to 90W each, four Gigabit SFP uplinks, a 360W total power budget, integrated battery backup capacity, and a NEMA 4/4X IP66-rated steel enclosure make this the unit to reach for when your deployment runs cameras in parking structures, loading docks, perimeter fencing, or any uncontrolled outdoor environment.

Unlike a standard rack-unit switch dropped into a wall-mount box, the NETWAYSP4T2W53 ships as a self-contained hardened unit rated to operate from -30°C to 65°C — spanning harsh winter cold to summer rooftop heat — so you're not engineering around a spec gap after the fact.

Key Features

  • 8 x 10/100/1000 Mbps PoE++ Ports (IEEE 802.3af/at/bt): Each port is capable of delivering up to 90W, which means you can drive high-wattage pan-tilt-zoom cameras, multi-sensor panoramic units, or access control panels with door strikes directly from a single Ethernet run — no separate power supply required at the device end. The tri-standard support (802.3af/at/bt) means the switch auto-negotiates with lower-draw 802.3af devices, so you're not locked into a single device class.
  • 360W Total PoE Budget: With 360W across 8 ports, you have real headroom to run a mix of device loads without load-shedding. A typical 16W 802.3at PTZ leaves you room for seven more before you brush the ceiling — or you can concentrate on four high-draw 80W+ multi-sensor cameras and still have margin. Budget your loads before commissioning and this switch won't surprise you.
  • 4 x Gigabit SFP Uplinks: Fiber uplinks let you break out of copper distance limits (100m Ethernet max) and reach a head-end NVR or core switch across a campus or parking structure without a media converter in the middle. Four SFP ports give you uplink redundancy options or the ability to aggregate to multiple upstream segments — useful on large perimeter deployments where a single fiber run failure shouldn't take down the whole outer ring.
  • Integrated Battery Backup — 4 x 12VDC/4AH Sealed Lead-Acid or Gel: The onboard battery capacity supports sealed lead-acid or gel-type batteries, giving connected cameras and access control hardware ride-through time during utility outages. For most security installations, maintaining door access control and perimeter camera recording during a power event isn't optional — it's a code or contract requirement. Building this into the switch enclosure eliminates a separate UPS cabinet on the wall.
  • NEMA 4/4X and IP66-11 Enclosure: NEMA 4X means the enclosure resists corrosion in addition to rain, hose-directed water, and ice — the standard to specify for coastal sites, food processing areas, or chemical plants. IP66 independently confirms dust-tight and high-pressure water jet resistance. The enclosure is rated for installation anywhere from a rooftop junction box to a covered outdoor cabinet without additional weatherproofing.
  • -30°C to 65°C Operating Temperature: This is a 95°C operational window, which covers nearly every North American outdoor deployment scenario without heaters or active cooling. Most commercial PoE switches are rated to 0°C or 40°C — the NETWAYSP4T2W53 operates in conditions that would shut those units down.
  • Dual Voltage Input — 115VAC / 230VAC: Auto-ranging input accepts both North American and international mains voltage, so the same unit ships to a US site today and an international project tomorrow without a transformer or SKU change. Reduces procurement complexity on multi-site rollouts.
  • Compact but Substantial Footprint — 19.31
