Overview

The Comnet PS-DRA30-48A is a 48VDC, 30-watt (625mA) regulated power supply designed for distributed PoE and powered-device installations in industrial and commercial surveillance deployments. Built for DIN-rail mounting with screw-terminal connections, it bridges the gap between standard 120/240VAC building power and point-of-load 48VDC PoE injectors or low-power network devices. The -40°C to +71°C operating range with cold-start capability makes it suitable for unheated enclosures, outdoor equipment rooms, and temperature-variable environments where standard commercial supplies would fail.

Compatibility

This supply works with any 48VDC PoE injector, managed PoE switch, or powered device requiring stable 48VDC input at 625mA or less. Common integration points include mid-span PoE injector power feeds, remote IP camera power distribution nodes, and industrial network appliance supplies. Voltage trim range (48–55VDC) allows field adjustment to match specific device requirements. Accepts both 115VAC and 230VAC input (auto-ranging) with 47–63 Hz line frequency tolerance, eliminating region-specific SKU inventory.

Installation Notes

Mount directly to 35mm DIN rail in any orientation. Screw terminals accept 14–18 AWG wire; strip 3/8 inch and torque to finger-tight plus one-quarter turn. Inrush current reaches 20A @ 115VAC and 40A @ 230VAC during cold start — confirm upstream breaker/fuse ratings support this transient. Hold-up time (20–30 ms depending on input) bridges brief AC dropouts but does not replace UPS-grade ride-through for critical loads. Power dissipation of 4.9W means no forced cooling required in standard 20°C ambient, but verify enclosure thermal budget at upper temperature limits. Over-voltage protection clamps at 60–66VDC; do not attempt to trim above 55VDC without load verification.
