The ATEN PE4104A is a rack-mounted intelligent power distribution unit (PDU) designed for remote power management of equipment in server rooms, AV racks, and security infrastructure closets. With per-outlet switching and reboot capability, the PE4104A lets you cycle power on a hung NVR, unresponsive IP camera controller, or locked network switch without dispatching a technician — useful in any rack where physical access is inconvenient or costly. Firmware is actively maintained; the current release is v1.4.133 (2026-02-09). The included 3m power cord covers standard rack-to-outlet distances without an extension.
Compatibility
The PE4104A integrates with ATEN's ATEN power management line, specifically designed for use alongside the PE4104G platform. Remote monitoring and scheduling are handled through ATEN's PMonitor software, which is available for both Windows (v1.0.081) and Linux (v1.1.107) — meaning it fits into mixed-OS data center environments without requiring a dedicated Windows server. It is suitable for pairing with rack PDU deployments in security and IT infrastructure racks where individual outlet control is required. The 100–120V input rating targets North American power environments; verify your facility's voltage before deploying in international installations.
Installation Notes
The PE4104A mounts in a standard rack enclosure. Note that for some ATEN rack-mount products, physical dimensions follow an LxWxH convention rather than the typical WxDxH format — confirm orientation before cutting rack space. Operating and storage humidity must remain at or below 80% RH, non-condensing; avoid deploying in unconditioned spaces such as outdoor enclosures or high-humidity utility rooms. Safety certification is CE-LVD, which covers low-voltage directive compliance for European and international deployments alongside North American installs. Firmware upgrades are delivered as a downloadable zip (pe4104g-v1.4.133.zip) and applied directly to the unit.
