Description

Viking Electronics ERAM-4M 4-Minute Memory Expansion Kit

Overview

The ERAM-4M is a non-volatile memory expansion kit that extends the voice recording capacity of Viking's AES-series emergency communication stations. If your AES-2000 or AES-2005 deployment requires longer custom announcements, multi-message configurations, or extended hold prompts than the base unit supports, the ERAM-4M is the direct hardware solution — no software licensing, no firmware changes. The kit slots into the host unit and provides 4 minutes of retained memory that survives power loss, keeping your programmed announcements intact through outages. Surface mount to walls, posts, single gang boxes, or recess mount in Viking elevator and emergency phone enclosures.

Compatibility

Designed specifically for the Viking Electronics AES-2000 and AES-2005 emergency communication stations. It is not a universal memory module — do not install in other Viking models without confirming compatibility with Viking's current documentation. For the DVA-3003 digital voice announcer, Viking's separate ERAM-60 kit applies; the ERAM-4M is not the correct part for that unit. Integrators provisioning AES-series elevator phones or area-of-rescue stations will find this the only supported path to expanded voice memory on those platforms.

Installation Notes

Operates up to 150 feet from the host unit on CAT-5E cable — keep runs within that limit or signal integrity degrades. Enclosure is 0.062-inch (16-gauge) powder-painted steel, dimensioned at 5.25″ × 4.0″ × 2.0″, which fits standard single-gang boxes and Viking's own emergency phone enclosures. Rated for -15°F to 130°F operating range — suitable for heated indoor elevator machine rooms and most conditioned utility spaces, but verify ambient temps before deploying in unheated outdoor or rooftop enclosures. IR camera monitoring of the installation point is supported via a Viking VCAM-1IR accessory if visual verification of the enclosure is required. Review Viking's AES-2000 install guide for memory module seating and programming steps before commissioning.
