Overview
The Geovision 391-HDD3TB-000 is a 3TB surveillance-grade SATA II hard drive purpose-built for continuous-duty recording in NVR storage systems. It replaces worn or undersized drives in Geovision recorder platforms or expands capacity in mixed-brand surveillance infrastructure that accepts standard 3.5-inch SATA interfaces. The 3TB capacity strikes a practical balance: enough for 24/7 multi-stream recording without requiring rack-mounted SAN complexity or the cost premium of larger enterprise-class drives.
Compatibility
This drive is compatible with Geovision NVR appliances that accept standard 3.5-inch SATA II drives — check your recorder's documentation for supported capacity limits and firmware revision. It also works with third-party network video recorders (Hikvision, Uniview, Milestone-based appliances, etc.) that use SATA hot-swap bays or internal drive slots. Do not assume compatibility with older ATA or proprietary storage interfaces — verify your system's drive connector type before ordering.
Installation Notes
Install the drive in a powered-down system. Secure the drive tray using the bracket and screws provided with your NVR (not included here). Allow 15–30 minutes for the drive to spin up and for your video management system to detect and initialize the new capacity. Some recorders require manual capacity confirmation in the system settings; others auto-detect. If the drive is a replacement, pull power for 10 seconds after physical removal before inserting the new unit to clear cached controller state.
