Overview

The Middle Atlantic BGR-38SA-27LRD is a 38 rack unit (RU) standalone equipment rack frame designed for AV and IT deployments where a full-size, fully enclosed cabinet is not required. Its open frame construction facilitates airflow and easy access to equipment, making it suitable for staging, pre-configuration, or in environments where security concerns are minimal but organization is key. The 27-inch usable depth accommodates a wide range of standard 19-inch rackmount equipment, including network switches, patch panels, and AV processing gear. This model is TAA compliant and manufactured in the USA, meeting federal operational requirements.

Compatibility

This rack frame is designed to house standard 19-inch wide rackmount equipment. The forward rackrail design ensures compatibility with most rackmount devices. Its open frame structure and ample RU count provide flexibility for various system integrations, including surveillance systems requiring rackmount NVRs or servers, network infrastructure, and AV control systems. The frame itself is gangable, allowing for expansion by joining multiple units together.

Installation Notes

The BGR-38SA-27LRD has a UL load capacity of 3,000 lbs (1,360.8 kg) and a seismic load capacity of 1,175 lbs (533 kg) when properly anchored. It features a 25mm x 150mm swing handle for easier manipulation. The frame is constructed from steel with a black wrinkle powder coat finish for durability. While this model is frame-only and does not include a rear door, it is forward compatible, meaning it can accept future rackmount equipment designs. It is also HCAI (formerly OSHPD) compliant for healthcare facility installations.
