• Embedded Defocus Detection + Fog Detection: Alerts when the lens is obstructed (moisture, dirt, insects) or when atmospheric fog degrades image clarity. Integration with a recording policy can auto-flag or auto-pause recordings during environmental degradation — reduces noise in forensic searches and storage waste on fog-obscured footage.

Deployment Considerations:

• PoE+ Injector Procurement and Power Budgeting: The unit cannot draw power from standard 802.3af switches. A Class 8 PoE injector (typically 150W capacity) is a separate line-item purchase. • Motorized Varifocal Zoom Requires ONVIF PTZ Commands: The zoom is not mechanical (no manual ring) — operators adjust via VMS interface.
