The ATEN KN2116VB is a 16-port Cat5 KVM switch designed for rack environments, enabling centralized control of multiple servers. It allows for 2 simultaneous remote users to access connected servers via IP, with an additional local console for direct management. This unit supports Virtual Media functionality, allowing you to mount remote storage or CD-ROMs to target servers for simplified software installation and maintenance. The KN2116VB is ideal for data centers, server rooms, and network closets where efficient, consolidated server management is critical. Its ability to cascade up to 512 devices makes it scalable for larger deployments.

Compatibility

This KVM switch supports PS/2 and USB keyboard/mouse connections, making it compatible with a wide range of servers and workstations. The device operates within a humidity range of 0-80% RH (non-condensing). Firmware can be upgraded via a provided zip file (v4.8.473).

The scan interval, adjustable from 1 to 255 seconds, allows you to configure how frequently the KVM cycles through connected servers when not actively controlled. This feature is useful for monitoring server status without direct intervention.
