Description

Vertiv 7208-E 2 Locking / 2 Non-Locking Caster Kit

Overview

The Vertiv 7208-E is a four-piece caster set — two locking and two non-locking — designed to add or replace rolling mobility hardware on compatible Vertiv rack cabinets. If you're repositioning cabinets during a data center build-out or need to swap worn casters on an existing enclosure, the 7208-E keeps the cabinet movable for staging and then locked in place once positioned. The locking/non-locking split is the standard configuration for stable floor contact: two fixed-position locks prevent drift while two free-rolling wheels allow controlled movement without picking up a corner.

Compatibility

The 7208-E is designed for Vertiv rack cabinet families spanning the standard footprint range: 24-inch and 29-inch clear-width cabinets at heights of 30U, 48U, 60U, 72U, and 84U — covering the full Vertiv enclosure size matrix from short network cabinets up to tall high-density server racks. Confirm your cabinet's base rail pattern and caster pocket dimensions against the 7208-E spec before ordering; not all Vertiv enclosure generations share the same caster mount interface.

Installation Notes

This caster kit ships in a box measuring 89″H × 32″W × 45″D at 416 lbs (packaged weight with pallet and protective materials — verify this is the assembled-cabinet shipping spec, not the caster kit alone, before planning freight). Install with the cabinet empty or minimally loaded to avoid tipping risk during caster swap. Locking casters should face the front and rear of the cabinet on the same side to maximize brake effectiveness on uneven raised-floor tiles.
