Overview

The Middle Atlantic DWR-18-17PD is an 18-space (31.5 in. usable height) pivoting steel wall rack built for IT closets, security head-end rooms, and light AV equipment installations where floor space is unavailable and a full-depth floor cabinet is overkill. At 17 in. overall depth with 15 in. usable depth, the DWR-18-17PD accommodates standard 1U through 4U rack-mount gear — NVRs, PoE switches, patch panels, UPS units — without protruding more than a foot and a half from the wall. The pivoting design means you can swing the entire cabinet away from the wall for rear-cable access without unmounting anything, which is the practical difference between a 20-minute service call and a 2-hour one. The included plexi front door provides basic visual protection and dust control while keeping the equipment visible for status-LED monitoring. UL-rated load capacity is 250 lbs (113.4 kg); seismic load capacity is 155 lbs (70.3 kg), making it suitable for installations in seismic zones. Steel construction with black wrinkle powder coat finish. Ships at 95 lbs; product weight is 58.5 lbs. Compatibility

Fits any standard EIA-310 19-inch rack-mount equipment up to 15 in. deep — the 15 in. usable depth is the hard limit. Compatible rack-mount equipment includes: 1U–4U NVRs (Axis S30 series, Hanwha QRN series, Hikvision DS-9600 series), 1U PoE switches (Axis D8004, Hanwha SPOEx series), 1U patch panels, and compact 1500VA or smaller rack-mount UPS units. Forward Rackrail design is forward-compatible with Middle Atlantic DWR accessory panels, blank panels, and cable management options within the DWR product family. Not suitable for equipment exceeding 15 in. depth or total rack load above 250 lbs.

Installation Notes

Wall mounting requires solid structural fastening — stud or concrete anchor rated for the 250 lb static load plus the 58.5 lb cabinet weight. The pivoting mechanism requires clearance on at least one side to swing open; verify wall-clearance before installation. Seismic installations must respect the 155 lb (70.3 kg) seismic load rating rather than the full 250 lb static figure. Width is 23.4 in. (59.4 cm) — confirm rough-in dimensions before mounting in tight closets or between conduit runs.
