At 15 meters, the active optical design maintains signal integrity across longer inter-rack runs that passive copper cannot reliably cover — eliminating the need for a separate switch hop or retimer just to bridge rack distance.

The 4Z57A72556 is designed for use with Mellanox/NVIDIA ConnectX HDR InfiniBand adapters and HDR-capable switches in Lenovo ThinkSystem server environments.
