Description

Middle Atlantic DT-VFD-14 14RU Vented Front Door for DTRK Racks

Overview

The Middle Atlantic DT-VFD-14 is a 14-rack-unit vented front door designed as a direct replacement or upgrade door for Middle Atlantic DTRK series racks. At 25% open vent area, it allows passive airflow through the front panel — a practical choice for AV, security, and IT equipment bays where heat-generating gear like NVRs, encoders, and network switches benefit from front-to-rear convection without requiring active fan panels. The gray powder-coat finish matches standard DTRK enclosures. The door ships at 13.9 lbs and spans 21.38 in (W) × 26.38 in (H) × 1.54 in (D), keeping the installed footprint tight against the rack frame.

Compatibility

The DT-VFD-14 is built for the Middle Atlantic DTRK rack series at 14RU depth. It is not a universal door — verify your rack model carries the DTRK base series designation before ordering. It is not compatible with RK, ERK, or WRK series Middle Atlantic enclosures, which use different door-mounting hardware and hinge geometry. If your rack is a different RU count within the DTRK line (e.g., 20RU or 25RU), confirm the matching VFD variant for that height.

Installation Notes

Door depth adds 1.54 in to the front of the rack — account for this in tight closet or wall-mount installations where front clearance is limited. The 25% vent open area supports passive cooling for NVRs and active networking gear; for high-density server loads or enclosed AV racks with significant thermal output, evaluate whether passive venting at this open-area ratio is sufficient or whether a vented panel with higher open percentage or active fan modules is warranted. No additional hardware or tools beyond standard rack-door installation are specified in the manufacturer documentation.
