Overview
The Panduit FODPX06Y is a 6-fiber OM3 indoor distribution cable designed for structured cabling systems where plenum-rated, riser-free installation is required. It features 900µm buffered fibers for robust protection and easy termination, making it suitable for backbone and horizontal cabling runs in commercial environments. The aqua jacket clearly identifies it as OM3 fiber, supporting 10 GbE and higher speeds.
Compatibility
This cable is intended for use with standard fiber optic termination and splicing equipment. It is compatible with any network switch, server, or device requiring OM3 fiber connectivity, including those utilizing LC, SC, or MPO connectors after appropriate termination. The 900µm buffered fibers offer a minimum bend radius of 1.0 inch (25mm) during installation and 0.5 inch (12.5mm) in operation, preventing signal degradation from tight bends. The OFNP plenum rating ensures compliance for installation in air-handling spaces, but installers must adhere to local building codes and fire safety regulations.
