Vivotek SFP-1000-SM13-10 1G Single Mode SFP Transceiver
Overview
The SFP-1000-SM13-10 is a 1.25 Gbps single-mode fiber SFP transceiver purpose-built for extending network reach in large-scale surveillance deployments. It delivers data across single-mode fiber (9/125μm) up to 10 kilometers — critical when your IP cameras, NVRs, or network switches are separated by campus distances, municipal boundaries, or industrial facility spans where copper Ethernet would introduce unacceptable signal loss. The 1310nm wavelength and Duplex LC connector are industry standard; the module is hot-pluggable and requires no software configuration.
Compatibility
Install this transceiver into any network device with a standard SFP slot — Vivotek IP cameras and encoders with fiber ports, Vivotek NVRs with SFP uplinks, managed Ethernet switches used in surveillance backbone networks, and third-party gear compliant with SFF-8472 (SFP MSA) and IEEE 802.3z standards. Confirm your equipment has an available SFP slot and accepts single-mode fiber modules before ordering. Pair with matching single-mode fiber cable (9/125μm) terminated in LC connectors at both ends.
Installation Notes
Single-mode fiber is distance-sensitive and wavelength-critical. Use only 9/125μm single-mode cable with 1310nm wavelength matching this transceiver — mismatched wavelengths or fiber types will cause signal degradation or link failure. Operates from 0°C to 70°C; storage rated to −40°C to 85°C. Transmit power ranges −9 to −3 dBm; receive sensitivity −18 to −1 dBm, ±3dB. Typical attenuation on 10 km of quality single-mode fiber is approximately 0.35 dB/km, leaving margin for connectors and splices. Power consumption is negligible (max 1W). Do not look directly into fiber connectors — the 1310nm laser output is Class 1 (eye-safe at the fiber exit) but cumulative exposure requires precaution.
