It solves the mounting problem for flush-style analog and digital clocks (6-digit HH:MM:SS and 4-digit HH:MM variants) that are designed to seat into a backbox rather than mount directly to the wall surface.

Compatibility

The VB-R22 is built for Valcom's flush-mount clock series — the analog and digital flush-mount clocks available in white or custom -CC colors, including the 6-digit HH:MM:SS display and 4-digit HH:MM display models. It is bundled as an optional accessory with the VIP-4122-A12-IC, Valcom's 2'x2' lay-in ceiling speaker with analog clock and InformaCast paging support, for projects that pair a ceiling speaker/clock combo with a separate flush wall clock in the same room. Confirm your specific clock model is the flush-mount variant (not the angled surface-mount version) before specifying this backbox — angled surface-mount clocks do not recess into a wall box.
