Ubiquiti UACC-AE Fiber-to-Copper Media Converter
Overview
The UACC-AE bridges 1G SFP fiber ports to standard GbE RJ45 connections, solving the problem of extending fiber uplinks to UniFi access points and wireless gateways that lack native SFP support. At 70 g with a compact 76.5 x 76.5 x 26.8 mm footprint, it mounts inline in tight outdoor or indoor cabinet spaces. The UV-stabilized polycarbonate enclosure handles -40 to 60°C ambient swings—critical for rooftop, rack-edge, or weather-exposed wireless deployments where fiber arrives but copper termination is required downstream.
Compatibility
Integrates with UniFi access points, wireless gateways, and switches requiring fiber uplink conversion. Powers via passive PoE (16–57V range) sourced from any standard UniFi PoE switch—no external power supply needed. Delivers 1 Gbps symmetrical throughput over both fiber and copper links, matching the bandwidth of typical UniFi backbone uplinks. NDAA-compliant; holds CE, FCC, and IC certifications for North American and international deployments.
Installation Notes
Maximum power draw is 1.5W, leaving headroom on standard PoE budgets. The single 1G SFP port accepts standard single-mode or multimode transceivers depending on your fiber plant. The GbE RJ45 port terminates to copper switch ports or access point uplinks. Status and Ethernet LEDs provide quick visual confirmation of link state. Operating humidity range is 10–90% noncondensing; seal or enclose in condensing outdoor environments (e.g., coastal fog or deep shade zones) to avoid moisture ingress into the polycarbonate housing.
