Description

Altronix T2MDK5F12PD Concise Descriptor

Overview

The Altronix T2MDK5F12PD is a compact power distribution module designed to provide 12VDC power to multiple surveillance devices. It addresses the common deployment challenge of efficiently distributing power from a central source to various cameras, encoders, or other low-voltage accessories, particularly in space-constrained enclosures. This module is ideal for installations where clean, fused power delivery is critical for system stability and device protection. The T2MDK5F12PD model specifically offers five individually fused outputs, each protected by PTC resettable fuses, ensuring that a fault on one output does not impact others.

Compatibility

This module is designed for use with Altronix power supply chassis and enclosures, such as the TROVE2M2/TMV2/10A/12DR/PTC series. It interfaces with 12VDC output power supplies to distribute that power to connected devices. It is compatible with a wide range of 12VDC powered IP cameras, analog cameras, encoders, and other low-voltage surveillance peripherals that require a stable 12VDC input. Ensure your primary power supply provides sufficient amperage to support all connected devices plus the module's own draw.

Installation Notes

Each of the five outputs on the T2MDK5F12PD is rated for 2.5A maximum, with a total module output not exceeding the input power supply's capacity. The PTC resettable fuses provide overcurrent protection, tripping at approximately 2.5A and resetting automatically once the fault condition is removed. This eliminates the need for traditional fuse replacement, simplifying maintenance. Wiring should be performed using appropriate gauge wire for the current draw of each connected device to minimize voltage drop. The module mounts within compatible Altronix enclosures, utilizing provided standoffs or mounting points.
