Description

TP-Link UE300C USB-C Gigabit Ethernet Adapter

Overview

The UE300C is a USB Type-C to Gigabit Ethernet adapter built for laptops, tablets, ultrabooks, and field-deployed edge devices that lack native Ethernet ports. It solves a straightforward problem: connecting thin clients and modern mobile platforms directly to wired infrastructure—surveillance offload, NVR management traffic, remote diagnostics, or temporary field installs where USB-C is the only connection available. The adapter uses a foldable connector design to minimize cable stress during transport and reduce snag risk in packed technician kits. USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (5 Gbps) backhaul ensures the 1 Gigabit Ethernet link is never the bottleneck.

Compatibility

Plug-and-play on Windows 10, macOS, iPadOS, ChromeOS, and Linux—no driver installation required on supported platforms. Works with any USB Type-C port rated for USB 3.0 SuperSpeed operation. Compatible with:

  • MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iPad Pro (USB-C equipped)
  • Dell XPS, Lenovo ThinkPad X series, and similar USB-C ultrabooks
  • Android tablets with USB-C (Samsung DeX, etc.)
  • Single-board computers running Linux with USB-C (Raspberry Pi 4 with USB-C hat, etc.)
  • Chromebooks with USB-C

Pairs directly with standard RJ-45 cabling and any PoE infrastructure. When used with appropriate USB PD or PoE-to-USB adapters, devices can draw both power and network data from a single wired connection.

Installation Notes

No tools or configuration required. Insert the USB-C connector into the host device's Type-C port, attach an RJ-45 cable, and the adapter auto-negotiates. The foldable design reduces mechanical stress on the USB-C port during deployment bag transport. Verify the host device supports USB 3.0 SuperSpeed data rates to achieve full 1 Gbps throughput; USB 2.0–only ports will limit speed to approximately 480 Mbps.
