It effectively splits a single network drop into two separate connections, allowing two computers or network devices to share the same physical cabling infrastructure without requiring additional switch ports or complex re-cabling.

Compatibility

This combiner kit is designed for use with standard 10/100 Ethernet networks. It functions by pairing two combiner units: one at the source (e.g., network switch) and one at the destination (e.g., user workstations). Each unit utilizes two of the four twisted pairs within a standard Cat5e or Cat6 cable to transmit separate 10/100 Mbps network signals. It is compatible with any standard network switch or device that supports 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connectivity.

Installation Notes

Installation requires two C2G 37049 units to be used in tandem. Connect one unit to an available network port on your switch or router using a standard patch cable. Connect the two devices requiring network access to the other two ports on the same unit using separate patch cables. Repeat this process at the remote location, connecting the second C2G 37049 unit to the existing network cable run. Ensure that the cable run between the two combiner units is intact and does not have any breaks or shorts across the pairs being utilized for the 10/100 Mbps connections. This device does not support Gigabit Ethernet speeds as it only utilizes two pairs.
