System Sensor RFP Retrofit Plate for SpectrAlert Advance
Overview
The RFP is a retrofit mounting plate designed to adapt SpectrAlert Advance notification devices — horns, strobes, and horn strobes — to existing installations or new deployments requiring a standardized interface. The plate accepts both indoor and outdoor SpectrAlert Advance units and operates at 35VDC, supporting retrofit scenarios where legacy hardwired notification systems need consolidation onto a single mounting substrate. This is the plate to use when you're retrofitting outdoor strobe or horn installations and need a robust, code-compliant mechanical adapter.
Compatibility
The RFP works with the full SpectrAlert Advance product line, including all two-wire horns, strobes, horn strobes, chimes, and chime strobes. System Sensor also manufactures the MP120K mounting plate (which converts 120 VAC to 24 V for powering SpectrAlert Advance devices) and WTP weatherproof plates for outdoor brick, ceramic tile, concrete, and masonry installations. Confirm your specific device model against the SpectrAlert Advance family before ordering — the RFP is a mechanical adapter, not a power converter.
Installation Notes
The RFP is designed for wall or ceiling mounting and supports both indoor and outdoor environments. Outdoor-rated units operate from −35°F to 151°F, suitable for temperate climates but not arctic or extreme heat zones. If you are mounting to masonry, brick, or ceramic tile, consider the WTP weatherproof plate instead — it provides NEMA 3R or NEMA 4X protection. The plug-in design of compatible SpectrAlert Advance devices eliminates ground-fault issues common in older hardwired systems. No special tools are required; installation is mechanical only.
