Overview
The KIT-71100A-E is an orange back box accessory kit designed to mount behind STI Stopper® Station and universal button installations. Back boxes provide surface-mount enclosure depth, allowing proper cable entry and strain relief when retrofitting existing door frames or mounting new access control reader assemblies where recessed mounting is not feasible. This kit operates at 9VDC, integrating directly with standard low-voltage strike power supplies and access control panels that power Stopper devices.
Compatibility
The KIT-71100A-E is compatible with STI Stopper® Station systems and universal button reader configurations. Verify your existing Stopper device model (STI-1100, STI-1130, STI-1200, STI-1230, STI-1250, STI-3150, or equivalent) before ordering. The kit supports 9VDC wiring architecture — confirm your power supply and control panel deliver 9VDC to the reader circuit. Universal button interfaces may require adapter plates or gaskets (sold separately) depending on your specific reader form factor and cable entry diameter.
Installation Notes
Position the back box frame centrally over the device mounting surface and mark the four fixing holes. Drill using a 7mm masonry bit for concrete/block substrates, or use appropriate fasteners for drywall or metal frames. Secure the frame with the wall fixings provided. Install the appropriate cable gasket for your wiring system before finalizing the frame — gaskets prevent water ingress and manage cable strain at the entry point. For outdoor or weather-exposed installations, pair this back box with an STI Weather Stopper II protective cover to extend device life.
