Overview
The EP161409-T3 is a polycarbonate NEMA 3R filter fan enclosure designed to house access control panels, annunciators, and fire alarm control equipment in outdoor or semi-outdoor environments. Injection-molded polycarbonate construction with tinted hinged door provides weather protection while maintaining visibility into the unit. The integrated filter fan (44dB(A) sound output) delivers quiet mechanical ventilation without requiring ducting — critical where thermal buildup would otherwise degrade electronics during summer peaks or in sun-exposed locations. Made in the USA with UV-resistant materials.
Compatibility
This enclosure is sized for access control systems, door strike management hardware, and electronic annunciators that require outdoor environmental protection. Compatible with standard DIN-rail mounted control boards and relay modules up to 7-door capacity. Removable polycarbonate door and draw-down latch design allow retrofit into existing mounting infrastructure without full panel redesign. Brass threaded inserts enable direct mounting of inner control boards and terminals.
Installation Notes
NEMA 3R rating means direct rain and dust ingress are sealed, but the unit is not submersion-rated — do not install below water line or in environments with standing water. Mounting panels are sold separately. The tinted door reduces glare and UV exposure to internal electronics without requiring optical clarity. Soft rounded edges minimize accidental injury risk during installation and maintenance. Filter maintenance is required periodically — ensure adequate clearance around the enclosure intake for unobstructed air draw.
