The STI BPP1412 is a 14-inch by 12-inch polycarbonate back panel built to shield access control readers, keypads, and credential devices from moisture, UV exposure, and incidental physical contact. Constructed from EnviroArmour polycarbonate, the BPP1412 protects mounted hardware in outdoor and wet-environment indoor installations without blocking radio or proximity signals. The clear, rigid panel design maintains line-of-sight for credential presentation while preventing water ingress at cable entry points and around the device perimeter—a critical factor in loading docks, exterior building entries, and coastal or high-humidity facilities where corrosion and UV degradation shorten unprotected reader life.
The BPP1412 integrates with STI access control system architectures and any standard 14-inch by 12-inch mounting footprint used in commercial and industrial credential stations. Its 9VDC operating voltage aligns with low-voltage access control power infrastructure, making it compatible with battery-backed reader installations and hardwired 9VDC supply circuits. Suited for reader frames, keypads, call points, and multi-credential panels in the same footprint envelope—verify exact mounting hole alignment with your reader frame before installation.
Position the panel frame over the device and mark four fixing holes using a 7mm masonry drill bit. Secure the frame to the mounting surface with supplied wall fixings. For outdoor installations, position the weather gasket over the device before securing the panel frame—this gasket closes cable entry points and prevents water pooling. Surface installations may require cable entry inserts to blank off unused holes. Drill hole placement must account for cable grommet routing; use the provided gasket materials to seal any gaps where wiring enters the protected space.
