Overview
The STI-4100 is a large-format break glass stopper designed to protect emergency keys and documents while keeping them visible and accessible during a life-safety event. This component is a physical barrier mounted over keybox or emergency access points — when break-glass activation is required, the stopper is breached to expose keys or trigger mechanisms underneath. The STI-4100 addresses the core tension in emergency access: keys must be protected from theft and wrongful use during normal operations, but available instantly when needed (fire alarm activation, emergency exit lockdown, or facility emergency response). It fits commercial door frame configurations and integrations where manual break-glass override is part of life-safety compliance.
Compatibility
The STI-4100 is the large model in the STI keybox family and is compatible with emergency keybox installations requiring a 100mm × 111mm aperture (internal dimensions). The accessory works with standard door frame mounting and integrates with emergency access control frameworks where break-glass activation triggers physical key release. It is supplied with a complete fixing kit for direct mounting to wall or frame surfaces. If you are deploying the smaller STI-6720 (small keybox) or STI-6700 (medium keybox), those models use different stoppers and their own replacement glass kits (KIT-672 and KIT-67 respectively).
Installation Notes
The STI-4100 comes complete with full fixing hardware and is designed for easy installation by security integrators or facilities teams. No special tools or torque specifications are documented; standard fasteners suitable for your wall or frame material (drywall anchors, concrete screws, or through-bolts depending on substrate) are recommended. The stopper itself is Plexiglas construction — durable but subject to impact damage over time. Replacement Plexiglas is available separately via part KIT-10, making field maintenance straightforward without replacing the entire assembly. Position the stopper at a height and location consistent with your emergency egress signage and access protocols.
