Description

STI STI-MBP1010 14 Gauge Electric Strike Backplate

Overview

The STI-MBP1010 is a 14 gauge steel backplate designed as the structural foundation for STI electromagnetic strike installations in standard door frame applications. Operating at 9VDC, this accessory provides the rigid mounting substrate and support structure that lock/strike assemblies require for load-bearing, tamper-resistant installation. Use this backplate when installing or replacing an electric strike system in wood or metal door frames where component-level precision and frame-level stability are non-negotiable.

Compatibility

The STI-MBP1010 is engineered specifically for the STI-EM111103 and STI-EM121204 electromagnetic strike models. Confirm your strike model number before ordering — this backplate is not interchangeable across the broader STI product line. If you are unsure of your strike assembly model, cross-reference your door hardware documentation or contact your system integrator for verification.

Installation Notes

The 14 gauge steel construction supports standard masonry and wood frame fastening. Drill pilot holes using 7mm masonry bits for concrete or cinderblock applications. For wood frames, use appropriate wood-rated fasteners rated for the strike pull force. Ensure the backplate sits flush against the door frame surface to avoid binding when the strike actuates. The 9VDC electrical connection must be run separately from door sensors and access control wiring to prevent noise coupling — keep power leads physically separated by at least 6 inches from data lines.
