Description

StarTech NLGR-3F-CAT6A-PATCH 3ft Snagless Cat6a Patch Cable

Overview

The StarTech NLGR-3F-CAT6A-PATCH is a 3-foot snagless Category 6a patch cable designed for high-speed network deployments. Its construction supports 10Gbps data transfer rates and 500MHz bandwidth, making it suitable for demanding applications like 10GBASE-T networks, high-performance workstations, and critical server connections. The cable's snagless boot design prevents connector damage during installation and removal, ensuring a reliable connection. It also supports up to 100W of PoE++ power, allowing for single-cable deployment of network devices like IP cameras and wireless access points, simplifying infrastructure and reducing installation costs.

Compatibility

This cable is compatible with all network devices utilizing RJ-45 connectors and requiring Category 6a performance. This includes, but is not limited to, 10GBASE-T switches, routers, servers, network-attached storage (NAS) devices, and high-performance workstations. It is also backward compatible with Cat5e and Cat6 networks, though performance will be limited to the lower standard. The 100W PoE++ rating makes it ideal for powering high-demand devices such as advanced PTZ IP cameras, high-density wireless access points, and ruggedized mobile computers.

Installation Notes

The cable jacket is constructed from Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) material, rated for environments where fire safety is critical. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F), with storage temperatures from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). The cable uses the TIA/EIA-568B wiring standard and features stranded 27 AWG copper conductors for flexibility. The aluminum-mylar foil with braid shielding (S/FTP) provides robust protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk, critical for maintaining signal integrity at 10Gbps.
