SDC IPDSE IP-Based Door Station Expansion Board with Enclosure
Overview
The SDC IPDSE is a networked door control station designed to expand distributed access control installations across multiple doors and zones. This enclosure-mounted controller handles reader integration, credential verification, and lock relay control at remote entrance points, secondary access zones, or satellite buildings in multi-site deployments. The IPDSE operates as a standalone single-door controller or integrates into an IP-based grid supporting up to 100 doors total, making it suitable for phased rollouts or modular system growth without replacing core infrastructure.
Compatibility
The IPDSE integrates with SDC's IPPro IP-based access control platform and works with distributed systems using standard access control reader protocols. It supports Wiegand 26–37 bit reader data, allowing integration with proximity card readers, keypad entry systems, and mixed-credential environments common in retail, office, and industrial facilities. The built-in web server manages up to 32 doors locally; SDC PLUS software extends management to the full 100-door grid. TCP/IP connectivity (100/10 Mbps, DHCP or static IP) plugs into existing IP networks without dedicated RS-485 backbone, though RS-485 terminal bus is available for hybrid deployments. Two Ethernet ports accommodate additional IP devices on the same segment.
Installation Notes
The IPDSE draws a maximum 120 mA @ 12 VDC, making it suitable for cabinet and field power distribution. Dual SPDT relay outputs control strikes or auxiliary devices: main lock rated 5 Amp @ 30 VDC resistive, auxiliary output 1 Amp @ 30 VDC resistive. Four dry-contact digital inputs integrate external sensors or status signals. Reader power supplies up to 500 mA @ 12 VDC on-board. Operating environment is 14°F to 122°F, indoor use only. Enclosure dimensions are 9½" × 6½" × 2"; the board itself occupies 6" × 3½" × 7/8". Weighs 1 lb. Supports up to 60,000 user records (2 credentials per user) with a 5,000-event audit trail stored on-board; integration with PLUS software enables unlimited event logging.
