Description

SDC CB401-B Emergency Push Button Switch Red

Overview

The SDC CB401-B is a 24VDC emergency access push button designed for communicating bathroom control and facility egress scenarios. This alternate-action (AA) on/off switch delivers SPDT contact rated 2 amps at 24VDC — enough to drive door lock solenoids, fire life safety panel inputs, or relay logic in a security system. The 20-gauge stainless steel faceplate with red finish aids visual identification during emergency activation, while tamper-resistant spanner screws prevent unauthorized disassembly. Wire leads are 7 inches long, 22 AWG — sized for direct panel integration or terminal strip wiring without conduit transitions.

Compatibility

The CB401-B integrates with any access control system or fire life safety panel accepting 24VDC SPDT relay logic. Common deployments include bathroom egress points in commercial facilities, healthcare environments, hospitality properties, and multi-tenant buildings. Works as a secondary button alongside card readers, push-to-exit hardware, or fire alarm system inputs. Verify your panel accepts 2-amp 24VDC switch closure before installation.

Installation Notes

Operates on 12/24 VDC ± 10% — confirm your power supply sits within this band to avoid contact chatter or solenoid undervoltage. The 7-inch leads accommodate surface-mount or flush-mount installation; dress wires through conduit if exposed to mechanical damage or wet environments. Tamper screws require a spanner bit or security wrench — standard tool in any installer's kit. No special environmental rating is listed; use in dry indoor or protected outdoor (covered) locations only. Do not expose to standing water or direct weather.
