Description

Vertiv VP4UU0A1 Monitored Unit-Level Rack PDU

Overview

The VP4UU0A1 is an 11kW vertical rack power distribution unit built for data centers and server rooms where input power configurations vary across deployments. Supporting 16A–48A and 208V–415V across both single-phase and three-phase feeds, a single VP4UU0A1 SKU covers a broad range of facility power standards without requiring a separate PDU per deployment. The integrated Next-Generation IMD includes a 128×128 LCD display with an auto-orientation sensor — the readout rotates to match how the unit is installed, saving time when rack orientation differs between cabinets. Secure boot protection prevents unauthorized firmware execution, a meaningful safeguard in multi-tenant or co-location environments. All units are 100% factory tested before shipment.

Compatibility

The VP4UU0A1 is designed for standard 42U open-frame and enclosed server racks accepting vertical 0U PDU mounting. The 42 combination C13/C19 outlets accommodate mixed 1U/2U server loads — C19 feeds high-draw devices (high-density compute, storage arrays) while C13 handles standard 1U servers and networking gear. The redundant power-sharing port supports paired PDU configurations for N+1 power redundancy, compatible with dual-corded servers drawing from separate power feeds. Input compatibility spans 50/60Hz utility power, covering North American, European, and most Asia-Pacific facility standards. Vertiv rack power infrastructure integrators already running Vertiv Liebert or Geist PDU ecosystems can integrate unit-level monitoring data into existing DCIM platforms via the IMD interface.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically in a 0U side-channel or rear-mount position within the rack — the 2 × 2.25-inch cross-section is sized for standard vertical PDU channels. Operating temperature ceiling is 60°C; confirm rack airflow management keeps ambient within that limit in high-density deployments. Input whip must match facility circuit rating within the 16A–48A supported range — do not connect to circuits outside that band. The redundant power-sharing port requires a second VP4UU0A1 or compatible Vertiv unit on the same rack for active use; leaving it unpopulated does not affect single-feed operation. TAA compliance makes this unit eligible for US federal procurement under applicable acquisition rules.
