Overview

The ACF503 is a roof-mount fan tray designed to exhaust heat from the top of APC by Schneider Electric NetShelter SX enclosures. It moves up to 440 CFM at 120VAC (50/60 Hz) — enough to handle high-density server and networking loads in standard data center rows without requiring supplemental in-row cooling. If your enclosure is running hot-aisle/cold-aisle layouts and you need active top exhaust rather than passive convection, the ACF503 is the purpose-built answer. Install it when ITload density or ambient temps are pushing passive chimney performance beyond acceptable thresholds in your rack enclosure deployment.

Compatibility

The ACF503 is designed exclusively for APC NetShelter SX enclosures in the 750mm wide × 1070mm deep format. Do not attempt to fit this tray to NetShelter SX 600mm-wide or 900mm-wide frames — the mounting rails and roof cutout dimensions will not align. It is equally incompatible with NetShelter VX, NetShelter EP, or third-party enclosures. Confirm your enclosure model against the 750mm × 1070mm footprint before ordering. This is not a universal fit. For network cabinets outside this specific dimension, verify APC's enclosure accessory matrix for the correct fan tray SKU.

Installation Notes

The tray ships at 22.58 lb — a two-person lift is practical during overhead roof installation. Overall dimensions are 28.5″ wide × 35.2″ deep × 2.4″ tall; verify roof opening clearance before ordering a replacement into a partially populated row. Input is 120VAC 50/60 Hz only — not suitable for international deployments on 230V circuits without a separate transformer or a compatible 230V variant. The unit is RoHS-compliant, satisfying environmental procurement requirements in the EU and comparable frameworks. Review your data center cooling layout to confirm top-exhaust airflow direction matches your hot-aisle containment design before commissioning.
