Push-pull connectors solve a real problem on industrial-grade cameras: ordinary RJ45 weather boots eventually fail in pole-mount or pier-mount installations, allowing moisture into the camera body. The Hanwha push-pull is a positive-lock connector that maintains a sealed mate under vibration and salt spray. Replacement cables are a common service item because cable damage (squirrels, lawn equipment, accidents during construction work) is one of the most frequent outdoor-camera failure modes.
Route the cable with a small drip loop near the camera body so water cannot wick into the connector. Avoid sharp bends within 6 inches of the connector — the push-pull mechanism is rugged but not immune to repeated stress at the strain-relief junction. For longer runs, splice with another OEM push-pull cable rather than mixing in conventional Cat6 patch cables at the camera end. The sealed connector is what keeps the camera's IP rating intact.
