Description

Middle Atlantic RFR-ERRK-16 Extra Rear Rail Kit for RFR Series Racks

Overview

The RFR-ERRK-16 is an extra rear rack rail kit for the Middle Atlantic RFR series of slide-out rack enclosures. It adds a dedicated 10-32 tapped rear mounting rail across 16 rack units (28 in usable height), solving the common integrator problem of needing rear support for heavy or deep equipment — managed switches, NVRs, patch panels — that a single front-rail mount won't safely hold. If you're building out a 16RU RFR-based AV or security rack and your equipment has rear-rail mounting ears, the RFR-ERRK-16 is the correct add-on rather than improvising with cage nuts or third-party hardware that may not align to the RFR's 20 in depth.

Compatibility

Designed specifically for the Middle Atlantic RFR series slide-out rack enclosures at the 16RU configuration. The rail seats at 20 in (50.8 cm) depth to match the RFR chassis geometry — verify your RFR enclosure is the 16RU variant before ordering, as rail kits are depth- and RU-matched and are not interchangeable across different RU sizes in the rack accessories line. The 10-32 thread pattern is the standard tapped-rail format used across commercial network and AV rack cabinets, compatible with virtually all rack-mount equipment that uses standard 10-32 mounting hardware.

Installation Notes

The kit ships as a single unit (package count: 1) at 8.2 lbs (3.7 kg) shipping weight — account for this when calculating final rack assembly weight for wall or floor load ratings. The 20 in depth is fixed; ensure your RFR enclosure's internal depth accommodates equipment plus cable management before adding rear-rail-mounted gear. Review the rack installation planning guide if you're calculating load distribution across a multi-enclosure deployment.
