Description

Viking Electronics CL-RFT RF Clock Transmitter for Wireless Clock Systems

Overview

The Viking Electronics CL-RFT is a dedicated RF transmitter built to synchronize analog and digital wireless slave clocks across large facilities without running new wire. Operating on Viking's 915–928 MHz frequency-hopping band at 1 watt (30 dBm) of output power, the CL-RFT pushes a reliable sync signal up to 3,300 feet — enough to cover a multi-building campus, a large warehouse floor, or a sprawling hospital wing from a single transmitter location. It is the backbone component of the CL Series wireless clock system, working in tandem with the CTG-2A master clock and Viking's line of analog and digital wireless clock solutions.

If you are evaluating the full Viking Electronics clock and intercom product line, the CL-RFT is the RF infrastructure layer — without it, slave clocks have no time source. Plan this component first, then size your slave clock count and placement around its coverage footprint.

Key Features

  • 915–928 MHz Frequency Hopping (1W / 30 dBm Output): Frequency-hopping spread spectrum across a 13 MHz band rejects narrowband interference from WiFi, Bluetooth, and other 900 MHz ISM devices. At 1 watt of transmit power — the legal maximum under FCC Part 15 Section 15.247 — you get the full 3,300 ft range without requiring licensed spectrum or a site frequency coordinator. Most facilities will never need a second transmitter unit.
  • 3,300 ft Transmission Range: In open-air or lightly obstructed environments, 3,300 ft translates to roughly a 17-acre coverage footprint from a single wall-mount location. For multi-story buildings with concrete and steel, plan for the built-in repeater capability of CL-D4 and CL-D2.5 slave clocks — each re-transmits the sync signal every minute, effectively extending usable range through obstructions without adding a second CL-RFT.
  • FCC Part 15 Section 15.247 Compliance: Ships ready to operate without a site license or FCC coordination — the transmitter is type-accepted under Part 15. This matters for facilities that need clock systems commissioned quickly and cannot wait on spectrum licensing paperwork.
  • Wide Input Voltage (90–230 VAC, 50–60 Hz): Universal input voltage means the CL-RFT works on North American 120V circuits and international 230V installations without a transformer or voltage converter. If your facility mixes panel voltages across buildings, this eliminates a sourcing variable.
